ALICE DRESS

Alice was during long time called the "cloud dress" because of her voluminous floating sleeves. Hanging in front of the window in my atelier as winter turned into spring, the soft embroidered cotton made me think of skies and warm summer days. I made this dress with inspiration from vintage peasant dresses, but added a concealed zipper that made the neckline adjustable. She can be worn both ways, with v-neckline in front or back.

Alice features large hidden pockets in the skirt. The top and skirt is gathered at the waist and finished with double waistbands for a neat inside. A narrow delicate bias band runs along the neckline. All seams are finished with narrow french seams, a time consuming but beautiful end result for a light and airy dress. The puffy sleeves are hand finished with invisible cuffs.

Natural fibers and made to order
Alice is made in an exquisite white 100% cotton broderie anglaise from France. This cotton has a soft structure with embroidered flowers. Being made out of natural fibers, Alice is comfortable and breathable and will make a good summer dress. The fabric is lightweight and slightly sheer due to the embroidery. A slip or nude underwear would make a good foundation.

Garment care
Hand wash and cold dry, or use a gentle machine wash program. If possible, lay flat to dry.

Size guide
Model in studio is a size 34 or X-small with a 32" bust, 25" waist, 5'5 height and wears size 34. Model in outdoor photos is size 36 with a 34 1/2" bust, 26 1/2" waist, 5'5 height and wears size 34. The fit is relaxed, the most important measurement is the waist. There are no stretch in fabric and it's better to have space for the zipper to close properly.
